Starters*
for Mack, Cummins, Caterpillar or Detroit Diesel engines
Starters
for Mack, Cummins, Caterpillar or Detroit Diesel engines can
be one of two different styles…the old style motor
is designated a 40MT and is either part number 205-57101 which
has an 11 tooth pinion gear (starter drive) or part number 205-57102 which
has a 12 tooth pinion gear (starter drive). Both part numbers
are 12 volt and negatively grounded units. The new style
motor is designated a 42MT and is either part number 205-55101 which
has a 11 tooth pinion gear (starter drive) or part number 205-55102 which
has a 12 tooth pinion gear (starter drive). Both part numbers
are 12 volt and negatively grounded units. Important
note…40MT and 42MT type units are interchangeable as long
as the pinion gears have the same amount of teeth. If
one of the above starters is the one you need, Contact
Us for pricing and same day shipment.
All
of our electrical units are made new as replacements for the
OE types noted in our website information. We require
no core return on any sale and our warranty is as outlined
in the Policy section of our site.
*The
starters noted above can appear on highway tractors, construction
vehicles, trash haulers, dump trucks or any other kind of equipment
that is powered by Mack, Cummins, Caterpillar or Detroit Diesel
