Starters for Ford, Chevrolet, GMC and Dodge pickups and vans w/diesel engines

 

Chevrolet and GMC Full size C/K series pickups, vans, Suburban, LUVs, S/T series, Jimmy, G/P series, Silverado and Express vehicles.

2.2-liter GM engines from 1981 through 1983 model year use 219-20102
5.7-liter GM engines from 1978 through 1981 model year reman only - S1252
6.2-liter GM engines from 1982 through 1993 model year use 205-29104
6.5-liter GM engines from 1992 through 2001 model year use 205-29104

Dodge Full size pickups including the Ram series, B series vans

5.9-liter Cummins diesel engines from 1994 through 2001 model year use a Nippondenso style starter part number 219-25105. Model years 1988 through 1993 use a Nippondenso style starter part number 219-25106. The difference in the two starters is the clocking position of the drive end housing.

Ford pickups and vans

6.9-liter International or Ford engines from 1983 through 1994 1/2 uses a Mitsubishi style starter w/part number 215-25101. This motor has either a closed drive end housing or an open drive end housing with a 1 5/8 inch snout. These starting motors are completely interchangeable.

7.3-liter Ford Power Stroke engines from 1994 1/2 through 2000 uses a Mitsubishi style starter w/part number 215-25102, which has an open housing configuration with a one inch snout.

7.3-liter Ford engines from 2000 through 2004 have a new starter designed by Visteon, part number 225-25101, and will be in a later release of our web-based catalog.
